The publishing house Grieg Bok was established in 2003 and publishes fiction and documentary-books. We focus on both Norwegian and international publications, and do not want to commit solely to one specific type of literature, but wish to remain open to all sincere authors who write books which have a public appeal.

We aim for bold design, and wish to collaborate with talented book cover designers from different parts of Norway and the world.

We believe that much will happen in the field of book distribution, and we are therefore publishing books that are well suited for an international market. We believe in collaborating with other small publishing houses in other countries; “small is beautiful on a large scale”.

Is there room for yet another publishing house in Norway? We obviously believe that there is. The smaller publishers can challenge the oligarcy of the larger houses. Great literature is produced both at home and abroad that never reaches the book stores in Norway, because the writers never quite manage to push through the bureaucracy of the publishing-Goliaths in the business.  
If a small publishing house is to survive, it needs the right kind of books, and the right kinds of writers. To succeed it needs public appeal.
Our policy is to be involved in all the different phases of the publishing process, to be generous, trustworty and professional. We meet the authors and designers and take an active part in everything that has to do with the printing process. We follow up on details, and commit ourselves to answering questions and to tackle challenges.  

Grieg Bok's financial terms are the same as the terms of other publishing houses, and the writers are strongly encouraged to take an active part in the printing- and marketing process.

Johan Grieg Alberts is the majority owner of Grieg Bok. The members of the board have broad experience within the fields of literature, journalism, marketing and law. Furthermore, the publishing house has a network of experienced advisors and collaborators with different backgrounds and areas of expertise.
